Scroll is a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum that employs zero-knowledge technology to enhance transaction speed and efficiency.
The foundational technical principles of Scroll include:
- Security and EVM-equivalence: Scroll operates on a zkEVM (zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine) using a zkRollup framework. This setup ensures that Layer 2 transaction integrity is maintained through succinct zero-knowledge proofs, which are verified on Ethereum's base layer. This mechanism provides the same security level as the Ethereum mainnet.
- Decentralization: The platform is developing a decentralized prover network known as the "Roller" network. This network facilitates the generation of zero-knowledge proofs for Layer 2 blocks, speeding up the finality time on Layer 1 and moving towards a fully decentralized protocol.

Scroll Points Program
Yesterday marked the launch of Scroll Sessions, a loyalty initiative designed to reward
community members for their active participation within the Scroll ecosystem. Starting with Session Zero, participants can earn Scroll Marks by transferring assets to Scroll. The programme will expand in the forthcoming weeks with additional Sessions and features, enhancing its inclusivity, enjoyment and engagement.
Since the Mainnet launch in October 2023, Scroll's zkEVM L2 has served as a pivotal layer for pioneering protocols, fostering a diverse range of applications from DeFi to social platforms and beyond.
To qualify for Session Zero, users have to bridge ETH and wstETH via Scroll’s native bridge and STONE using LayerZero. This session does not require any further transactions or activities. Future announcements are said to detail new assets and methods for acquiring Scroll Marks.
Long-standing members of the Scroll community, especially those who have been actively deploying assets since the genesis block on October 10th, 2023, will also receive Scroll Marks retroactively.
Additionally, it has been noted that a new frontend will soon be available for members to monitor their Scroll Marks across various Sessions.
